VMPS Millbury TT - 7/24

Post by djming »

Shifting over from KT's general interest thread earlier.
Weather looking promising for tomorrow evening (still damn humid but looks like it won't be wet or storms).
I'm in unless the forecast changes to bad conditions. I'll be riding before as well - might do a ride over or could meet up early if anyone else is available for a solid 90 minutes or so.
Details on registration and parking/start time here - https://www.mpstraining.com/mobile/time ... eries.html
$10 pre-reg or cash when you arrive. If you've never done one in their series, first timers no charge.

You beat me to the punch Dave. I was going to post-up and say that the weather looks to be dry tomorrow afternoon, but given the unsettled, tropical conditions forecast all week you never know. So I'm also in weather permitting.

Dave, is parking/reg still in the lot at the intersection of W. Main & Harris Ave.? I remember it changed last year (or was it two years ago?), but don't see anything about parking.

And where/when can we meet for a pre-ride?

Parking and registration is back to W. Main and Harris. Use the dirt lot, not the the paved part by the fire department.
Just heard from Mark Daniels, and he can leave his place at 4:45. I'm thinking rolling from the parking area by 4:30 and head his way for an intersect route (or maybe all the way to his house) and then get back to the parking for 6'sh for water/snack and get ready for the main event.

Not sure I can make 4:30 roll out. If I can I'll see you there, if not I'll do a warm-up lap or something else.

I'm in for the TT. Will be riding from the Price Chopper lot in Hopkinton at 5pm in case anyone wants to join a pre-ride alternative.

Post your intended route Mike. I can figure out an intercept.

Looks good Mike - nice choice going up thru Purgatory for a warmup :D
I'm planning to roll from the parking area by 4:30, with an intersect route towards Grafton and Mark Daniels.
From there, Mark and I will backtrack towards Mike with a few options from there

My idea of route, assuming we connect somewhere between Quaker/Pleasant St and Upton Center:
https://www.strava.com/routes/14529348

I know shorter options (yes, one would be thru Purgatory!), plus I have yet another that's another 1.5 longer and less climbing.
I know the roads well enough so we can decide on the fly depending on where we stand time-wise.
