Vermont Gap training June 9-10

Post by dantelman »

I am planning a 3-day Vermont weekend, June 8-10. If you are not racing Purgatory, and want to train for GMSR or other mountainous events, this is for you. I am trying to prepare for VTGF, which the full course has 4 gaps in a single day

Plan is an easy spin on Friday afternoon, and then 2 gaps Saturday and 2 on Sunday. The gaps are Appalachian, Lincoln, Middlebury and Brandon.

Base camp is the Ramapo Ski club, located at Mad River Glen. Accomodations are only $20 per person per night.

PM me if interested

Man, this sounds like a blast! Wish i could make it, it's been way too long since I've ridden any of the gaps in VT.

I would totally be in to doing a night, but I am off the bike right now. If you do this again later on, I could hopefully join!

I would be interested in the future but not this weekend. Junes are tough months with family stuff.

I will certainly let you guys know for the next one.. I try to go once a month in the summer. May try and do a gravel route, if people are interested, there are many many dirt roads up there.

btw families are welcome, the lodge sleeps 40 people, and its typically empty in the summer, so there is plenty of space. There are plenty of non-cycling activities for families- hiking, farmers market, breweries, kayaking etc
