Can you meet us before Harvard Ctr? We'll be taking a slightly different route over there, crossing over Wattaquadick toward 117, then across 117 up Harvard road on a b-line to Harvard center.

I know this route better than I know my parents. But in case you don't actually know the RR course, here it is. Download it in case you get dropped, flat, or you are so strong you ride away from everyone...

Some quick RULES for tonight, that have nothing to do with the competition itself, more about safety. I've done some unruly group rides before, I really don't want this to be one of them since we'll all be wearing MRC kits:
1. Safety is the most important aspect of this ride, way more important than winning or looking badass
2. ALL traffic should be given the right of way, AT ALL TIMES. We should try to stick to 2 wide especially on Littleton road
3. If others get caught in traffic, wait for them don't attack, this isn't a real race
4. Point out obstacles, this isn't a real race
5. No dive bombing corners at others demise, this isn't a real race
6. No blocking or disrupting the chase, this isn't a real race. If your teammate is up the road, sit in and enjoy the ride
7. If you get dropped (and most will), chase so you at least get a good workout (and so everyone doesn't have to wait for hours at Harvard center)
8. If you don't know the route, see above. This is a drop ride during the 2 lap simulation.
9. Bring a tube and repair kit. This is a drop ride during the 2 lap simulation.
10. If someone does in fact crash (please don't) then we'll neutralize because did I mention this isn't a real race?
11. Bring $11 for beer (the beer is expensive at 110 grill)
I may add to this list

I am in if I get out of work on time. Going to be tight. I lack a MRC jersey so I will just wear what I have.

Due to a late day conference call that could not be missed, I can't make the ride. So I did ride out there this morning. Course is in surprisingly good shape. I heard from Jen S that streep sweepers were out yesterday around the center.
A few things:
1) The Rt.2 overpass on Littleton Rd. Stay towards yellow as you approach it (if it's safe to do so..) The main hole that's been a problem right at the "seams" is better than I expected, but there's a nasty patch of rough stuff on the right just before. Easy to see solo at cruise/tempo pace. At race pace in a group, maybe not as much.
2) The section of Littleton Rd on the little downhill approaching Veryfine has been spot patched. It's nothing like it was for the race last year, but still a bit bumpy.
3) The swooping right turn from Pinnacle onto Oak Hill is sandy. As in right in the middle of the road. Cut the speed and stay wide. Don't try to nail the tangent! Sand continues along upper Oak Hill but is limited to the sides. Don't ride the gutter. The descent into town is fine.
I will be there for the beer after. See y'all then.
