WNR "Beta Test" 6/10 @ 5:30 - Berlin 110 Grill

I'm happy to announce that MRC COVID experts have analyzed the Massachusetts Phase 2 Re-opening plan and deemed it is now acceptable to do a group ride, as long as we follow some very simple rules and guidelines:

1. The ride will have no more than 10 people, which means if we get more than that we will split up into groups, mostly likely A and B (or more if necessary). I'd like to keep the groups between 6-8. Please listen to the ride captain for instructions (which will be me)
2. You must post up here, no lurking and don't invite people "off-board"
3. You must be an active MRC member to participate in these phase-2 rides so we can take extra precautions
4. Take the obvious step of excluding yourself if any of these pertain to you:

a) You have these symptoms: Cough OR at least TWO of these symptoms: Shortness of breath, Fever, Chills, Repeated shaking with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell, Vomiting, Diarrhea
b) You've had contact with a person with Covid-19
c) You've traveled on a plane in the last 2 weeks
d) you are currently fat and slow (not corona related...)

Remember to post up here and make sure your membership is active. Also remember you are responsible for your own choices and actions, and you must decide what is right for you.

Lastly, I'm deeming this a beta test because if we don't follow these rules we'll have to re-evaluate the clubs position on these rides. Don't be that person....

Thanks,

The Management

Face masks are not required while riding but everyone should have one with them.

Weird. I was thinking about doing the course this Wednesday for fun, anyhow. Might as well be chasing Rees.

That said, acording to rules, I'll have to abandon after Oak, seeing as I'll be short of breath and coughing.

In, but I'm claiming a 4d and doing the B ride unless you guys need a dog to kick around in the As. I'm happy to ride with the As, but don't want to take a spot from someone who's maintained fitness this spring and deserves to be there.

Every reaction has an equal and opposite reaction. Its science

I count 8 in (counting Westberry although he didn't actually say IN).

Make sure you post up. Don't just show up or you'll have to pull all the way to OAK hill as punishment.

I am IN! Someone post the route? I'm sure it's somewhere on my Strava, just want to make sure I have the right file loaded.

Anyone interested in a 4:30 pre-ride?

Great to see things trending back towards normal. I canโ€™t make it today because of work, but planning for next week with the fat and slow crowd.

I could be convinced to grab a post ride burrito or burger and have a distanced picnic somewhere in the plaza

The beta test was a success. We had a solid crew of 11 or so. We split into 2 groups. All had fun as far as I can tell. We ate burritos and had a few cocktails after while practicing social distancing etc etc. I'm optimistic we can/should continue this trend.
