ZWIFT RACING - Every Wednesday - WSBA SweatFest Winter Race Series

Post by Mkidd3 » Mon Nov 11, 2019 2:31 pm

It's that time of year! Zwift Racing every Wednesday night at 6:30pm is the Sweatfest race series.

What do you need to do? Pick the race in Zwift, have a Zwiftpower.com account (MAKE SURE YOU LIST YOUR TEAM AS MRC!! IMPORTANT!!) and race your face off!

https://www.zwiftpower.com/series.php?id=SWEATFEST

Lots of informaiton on their FaceBook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/132629184105216/

Also, heads up... if you've never races on Zwift. It starts like a CX race all out sprint till the separation is made then it settles down.

I was on injured reserve last year but I’ll join the crew this year. Real question is where will Busick and his mad Zwift skills end up? In the B’s with us common folk or will he be force upgraded to the A race (a fate wished on no man)

Wait, has anyone been in a CX race that “settled down”? I must be doing it wrong...

I was in a CX race once that settle down for about 10 seconds. I think my HR went from 186 to 183, it was just the recovery I needed.

In for the A’s and pre-reg’ed. Last week the B’s was like a chill group ride

I'm out this week. Sinus thing, I shouldn't ride and if I did I'm not sure I can balance on the rollers.

I"m also signed up for A, this should be interesting. Give Rees a chance to get back at me from Nats

 This is even the same course as Nats! The rolling hills at the end of this course get me every time though.

Well, that didn't go as planned. The Utah family computer wouldn't let Rees world swap to the event start in time so he missed the A's. I think Pare got surprised and gapped by the quick spike in pace coming out of the tunnel after a pretty mello start. Ben Dowling and Dietrich got away in a 2 man break there so instead of a nice blob for me to hide in going up the reverse KOM it was twos and threes with people opening or trying to close down gaps until I finally followed the wrong wheel into a gap that I couldn't close. I tried regrouping with Jerome and Breeze, but Breeze wasn't much help and eventually the B's swallowed us up. After that I had to keep a close watch on Jerome, the crafty Canadian, who kept surging and taking digs. I was trying to stay off the front of the B's pack and also not get involved in closing gaps between different B groups (especially after the forward KOM where Breeze got dropped) but Jerome did a bunch of work for the B's chase. I'm hoping it was because he wanted to catch the next A straggler. We caught two more A stragglers, Cody Dannen who had been in no man's land since the reverse KOM and Robb Britt. Jerome made some more digs in the Esses which I had to shut down, and then one final dig at 500m to go which I counter attacked and was so focused on holding him off I didn't notice Robb Britt go by me mixed in the B's sprint. But I did beat Jerome, which is something.

BTW, nice job MRC racers in the B's race, you guys were doing a great job controlling things and Mark was SOOOO close in the sprint!

In for the B's. We can, but it just turns into me panting and blowing snot rockets. No one wants to listen to that.... HAHA!
