Hey! So, a tiny bit psyched to report that the MRC kit made it onto the podium at NBX over the weekend. Despite the fact that cyclocross is absolutely the antithesis of my personality and that I am extremely out of my comfort-zone when racing, I managed 2 category places over the weekend (Women's Masters 35+ 3rd Sat, 1st Sun (2/32 overall.) I don't know how the MRC CX team works, but was surprised to have achieved a little success this season, so I wanted to share.
Of course, big congrats to Patrick Collins, back on the bike and a huge inspiration to watch race both days. I learned a ton watching the elites race - primarily, it's supposed to hurt like hell and everyone f's up (no use getting caught up in the 1000 mistakes you can make during a cx race because you'll never pedal again if you do.) Here are a few shots of Ripley getting my medal and some special lady lovin' yesterday. (I missed the podium all together Saturday. I raced so badly that it never occurred to me to check.)
