I scouted out the course for a finish line yesterday.

Here is a segment of the full lap that starts and ends at the finish line.
https://www.strava.com/segments/25080498?filter=overall

A few notes,
-I was on course yesterday at 5:50pm and I did 2 laps, I only got passed by 4 cars in 7.6 miles.
-The loop is smooth, just be careful with the right turn from south street onto Crosby, it is a tight turn, don't end up riding into oncoming traffic.
-Both railroad crossings can be taken at speed.
-I will bring some tape to put down at the finish line, but the best tape I have is brown duct tape. So if anyone else wants to bring tape let me know.
-We will do one warm-up lap and then gather in the parking-lot of the berlin police department to make sure teams are set.
Warm up route: https://www.strava.com/routes/2723225607629885684
-I currently count 9 riders, so we might be doing 3 teams instead of 4.

Let's go people. 3 teams of 4 would be ideal.

Cactus, I lift your 2 week suspension for this.

I’m really looking forward to this! We should probably hash out the details of the structure ahead of time so we aren’t standing around too long. Rees I’m sure you have some specifics in mind?

With three teams, and three different kits in common circulation (new, blue and hi vis), I suggest the teams be announced ahead of time and each member wear the assigned kit. I have both new and blue.

I like this idea. I have blue and high viz from this year and last as well as the CX kit from years past.

The “race committee” aka captains discussed this but with late additions and lurkers we probably won’t finalize the teams until race time. Also not everyone has every color option so the best thing to do is to BRING ALL YOUR KIT ;). it’s definitely something we would like to sort out as it will definitely make for an easier race to read.

If you bring all your options maybe we can swap jerseys around (not bibs, ewwww) to sort it all out.

What about putting a small piece of colored electrical tape on the back of helmets?

How many laps? I have to be done by 7:00, maybe I'll park on course to save myself a few minutes when we finish.

1 warm up, 6 racing, so 7 total. With riding to and from the start that should put us at 33.3 miles, parking on the course will save you about 3 miles.

A lap is 3.9 miles, and there will be about a mile left after the finish, so we are really only racing for 5.75 laps or 22.4 miles. Hopefully we can all count without oxygen in our brain!

Well, I was thinking to join your guys for the WNR, still am, crazy race sim stuff! If you'll have me I could fit in a C maybe a B team due to mechanical (road bike down, on CX 1X set up with road tyres-- that one's for you Smudger!) and physiological (old man back problem) issues. Can bring multiple jerseys (leave the orange/black one at home eh?) and of course abide by ALL guidelines. Prolly show up to roll with Jer at 5 anyways. If I don't fit into race sim, no worries JDZ

Not 100% I'll be there, but if I am I'll be meeting you on-course so don't wait for me at the 110 if I'm not there.

If anyone has any colored ribbon bring it along. The wider the better. We’ll be tying a piece to the back of our helmets to denote “team” as we might have 4 teams now. If you have some please throw it in your bag!

No colored ribbon but I do have some pink tape from CX season, that should work for one team anyway.

Good idea. I have some white Minuteman CX tape I can rip lengthwise-- should work good. If anyone has yellow caution tape we can do the same thing with that.
