Upgrading bindings

Upgrading bindings

Postby rusto » Sat Dec 25, 2010 4:22 pm

I have some older touring XC skis with kinda old bindings. Ok, they are OLD, over 20 years old. Barely used them back then and want to upgrade them to either NNN or SNS bindings since my old boots dissolved and I'll be buying new ones (I doubt they still make boots that would work with the current bindings).

Advice for the newb?

Ok, pulled off antique bindings, filled holes w/epoxy. Will be sanding the excess down smooth today...

Rusto,
My experience of late for touring skiis is to use the NNN bindings. It seems like there are more options. I converted my classic / backcountry skiis to NNN last year when I had trouble finding SNS combinations of boots and bindings (this was after I wrecked my old boots).

I mostly do touring and backcountry when we get a nice dump of snow, but worked with Jorge last year on skate lessons at Weston Ski Track. I am a work in progress on skating - kinda like my cycling.
