From the capitalist side of me, I don't understand how a race that has 1500 racers over 2 days goes poof. I am assuming that it was issues with the town/owner of the park. But to me, it seems like they could have raised the price to cover any sort of issue since the race sells out so fast every year that some level of price inelasticity should be there.
