CX practice at Ski Ward tomorrow 8/29

Post by Deltabrian » Tue Aug 28, 2018 9:25 pm

See you all out there. It's gonna be hot, so bring water and anti-hot stuff.

This is a weekly cross practice / training race.

Starting at 5:15pm there will be at least 3 - 20 minute practice races with about 10-15 minutes in between and will run until dark. So if you can't make the first one don't stress, you can hop in the next one.

Online registration for each week will close at 4pm the day of the practices. Onsite registration will be available for $15 per rider.

There will be barriers, run ups, tight turns and race scenarios - Starts - Clipping in your pedals straight to sprinting for the holeshot.

If you are new to cyclocross this will be a good way to get use to racing in a relaxed training atmosphere before jumping in to your first race.

If you already have experience in racing cross this will be a good way to brush up on skills and have a mid week training race.

After the races stay for french fries, burgers, and beers ( 21+) at the Ski Ward lodge.

I reg'd but I may get stuck at work. Ill grab that mallet from you at Kalon, or you can just keep it; I'm not even sure how I ended up with it. It might have come with the house.

See you there. This heat is a great way to cut weight before the season starts next week.

I barely touched my lunch today due to the heat. Now I am not only lighter for today's practice, I also have lunch ready at the office for tomorrow.

unfortunately have to miss out this week, hopefully will be there next week once my son is back in his after school program and my wife can pick him up later. I can race on Saturday having done zero CX skills training, right? lol

Great turn out last night we must have had 30 or so people. The course is great, short, hilly and tons of turns. All abilities were represented. Oscar's son Reid crushed it in his first "race". Greg Gunsalus and Patrick Collins pushed the pace. Oh, and we had popsicles.

Great time! The heat, although very hot, wasn't as bad as I was expecting and there was a nice breeze. Fun course, and I started getting more confidence in the corners later in the day.

You only need to check in at the bar and pay there.

Sorry Brian, I just happen to be online and saw the question.
